Support for newcomers from Ukraine
Helping people coming from Ukraine is a marathon, not a sprint.
Most of those who fled the war in Ukraine are women and school-aged children. Young people who start their education in Polish schools need support in the process of recovering from traumatic experiences, integration, and adaptation to the new reality.
Thanks to many years of experience in the field of global education and work on behalf of people in refugee situations, we are able to engage in these activities. However, for this, we need your support.
What are we raising funds for?
- to conduct intercultural assistant training for people who speak Ukrainian and Russian, primarily refugees;
- to create jobs for the trained individuals so that they can be placed in schools and educational institutions that do not have the financial means to employ them;
- to organize workshops, integrative activities, and summer camps for children and youth from Ukraine.
Why trust us?
Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat – SCI Poland through volunteering combines international projects with the local spirit and over 25 years of experience in working for human rights, social equality, peace, respect for the environment, and human solidarity.
We have been involved in global education since the beginning of the Stowarzyszenie. Ten years ago, we set up the Centre for Global Education, under which we have implemented many projects: workshops, debates, publications, training for teaching staff. For many years, we have been training people who want to work with refugees and migrants. Thanks to the cooperation with Polish Migration Forum, the library in our Poznań headquarters has been hosting the “Migroteka” book collection for many years.
