Anti-discrimination Media Education
Lead an anti-discrimination media education workshop with us
Everyday life in today’s media environment is not easy. To efficiently navigate through the maze of news, to separate the reliable from the manipulated, one needs special competences. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of many teachers, schools deal with media education poorly. What is worse, this negligence translates into the development of the problem of discrimination. False information often aims at arousing racist or homophobic sentiments. Pupils often lack the skills to recognise and counteract such discriminatory content. This can lead to frustration, powerlessness or discouragement.
We want to change this. Therefore, we organize a training for volunteers who are willing to conduct workshops on anti-discrimination media education in schools in Greater Poland. NOTE: The training will be held in English.
To join the volunteer group, fill out the recruitment form available at the address until 20.04, 23:59.
Not sure if this is the activity for you? The training will allow you to:
- deepen your knowledge of media education,
- gain practical skills to combat misinformation,
- learn more about anti-discrimination activities in Greater Poland,
- develop competencies related to the conduct of workshops and non-formal education methods,
- meet people who are also passionate about media and social activism and join a local volunteer group,
- gain practical experience in working with children and school youth,
then sign up for the training organized by us!
Do you have any questions about the training or workshops? Write to longterm@poland.sci.ngo.
